STEVEN R. WAGNER was born in Roslyn, New York in 1952. He is a graduate of Oberlin College (1974) and Brooklyn Law School (1977) and is a member of the New York and Florida State Bars, the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts and to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Steve started the firm in 1984 after practicing at a general litigation firm and a firm specializing in co-op and condominium law. His ability to “cut to the heart of a matter” and explain legal issues clearly quickly established him as a leading attorney in the rapidly expanding co-op and condominium field. His litigation background, common sense and intellectual toughness attracted clients in a variety of fields, including real estate, co-ops and condominiums, land use, leasing, and commercial and corporate law. Today, Steve’s clientele is varied and in addition to representing a large number of cooperatives and condominiums, he maintains and services corporations, commercial and residential real estate developers and landlords, real estate and investment entities, individual directors and partners involved in corporate or partnership disputes, residential and commercial tenants and tenants’ associations, and a number of restaurateurs.
Steve has written for both The Cooperator and New York Habitat, publications specializing in co-ops and condominiums. He is frequently interviewed for articles focusing on New York City real estate issues, and has lectured extensively for the Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives, the New York County Lawyers’ Association, and the Council of New York Cooperatives. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers’ Association, and the New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association. Steve is married and has a daughter. He enjoys boating, vintage sports cars, movies, music, and “making deals happen.”
